Beauty: The Making of a Custom Guitar
A semi-finalist for the Tucson Festival of Books Literary Award
This is the dramatic story of the making of a beautiful custom guitar by Vincent Guidroz, luthier and proprietor of the New Orleans Guitar Company. It begins when John Warnock’s wife gives him the gift of musical instrument to be made by Guidroz to Warnock’s specifications. The relationship between Warnock and Guidroz unfolds in the exchange of emails between them that leads to the creation of the guitar profiled in the book. The stages of construction are beautifully illustrated by Guidroz’s photographs.
